Draft — under legal review

Effective date: [TODO — pending launch]

The short version

Moss Learning listens to your child read so it can coach the read in the moment. Your child's voice is used to score the read — we never save recordings. We keep only the reading results (word, outcome, time) and your account details. No ads, no selling data.

What Moss is — and isn't

Moss Learning supports reading practice and confidence. It is not a diagnostic tool, dyslexia screener, speech-therapy service, medical product, or replacement for a teacher or reading specialist.

What we collect

  • Parent account: your email address.
  • Learner profile: first name and age.
  • Reading attempt results: the word, the outcome, and timestamps.

Child voice audio

Your child's voice is used solely to score the read in the moment. We never save recordings. The audio is sent to our speech-scoring provider to produce the score, then discarded immediately afterward — no audio is stored anywhere on our side. Our speech-scoring provider (Speechace) retains zero audio under contract.

What we don't do

  • No ads.
  • No selling your data.
  • No profiles beyond reading progress.
  • No audio retention by us.

Parental rights

You can review, delete, or export your child's data by contacting [support email — TODO]. Deleting a learner removes their reading data.

COPPA notice

Verifiable parental consent is required when you create a learner (acknowledged via the consent checkbox at learner creation). A fuller consent flow is a pre-launch item.
