What we save

A plain-language summary of what Moss Learning stores about your child, and what it never stores. This describes how the app works — it is not a live copy of your data.

We save

  • Your child's first name or nickname — in their profile
  • Age — in their profile
  • Reading starting point (your answers to the quick placement questions) — in their profile
  • Settings you choose (e.g. dyslexia-friendly font, teacher audio) — in their profile
  • Your consent record — when you agreed and which notice you saw — in their profile
  • For each word read: the text the app heard, and whether it was correct — in reading sessions
  • A reading score for each word, and which word was practiced — in reading sessions
  • When each read happened — in reading sessions
  • Sound-level reading detail (which sounds were tricky), to coach gently — in reading sessions
  • Creatures your child earned by reading — in the collection

We do not save

  • Voice recordings — your child's voice is processed to score the read, then discarded. We never save the audio.
  • Location or IP address
  • Third-party trackers or analytics tools
  • Anything social — no child-to-child contact, no followers, no leaderboards
  • Advertising — no ads, and no marketing to your child

Voice is processed by our speech-scoring provider to return a reading result.

You control this data: you can confirm or withdraw consent and delete your child's data at any time. Read the full privacy notice.
